While sitting in my living room watching TV, still a bit stunned by midterm election results, I turned to one of the financial news networks because I figured that at the very least our retirement funds might get a temporary boost in anticipation of the newly elected republican senate. I wasn’t disappointed. The markets were slightly up. Before I could turn away the giddy young TV host began excitedly interviewing a CEO from a mortgage lending institution and in one answer the CEO demonstrated to me everything that is wrong with corporate America and right wing thinking.
